Quick, smart and formidable in offensive play Joe Montana was the epitome of calm in the cauldron of NFL football. As a quarterback of legendary repute, the hunky blonde Pennsylvanian was the principle playmaker for the San Francisco 49ers for most of his career.
Along with a slew of accolades and awards Montana is ranked among NFL football’s very best in terms of all-time passing yards and touchdown passes. During his time on the field he racked up four Super Bowls, was given the nod for eight Pro Bowls and recognized as the Super Bowl’s Most Valuable Player on three occasions.
His most enduring claim to fame was his uncanny ability to engineer victories from behind; triumphs that saw him being referred to as ‘The Comeback Kid’ by his ever-expanding army of fans.
The man alternatively known as ‘Joe Cool’ holds the Super Bowl record for the most passes without an interception. He also remains the highest ranked quarterback in the league with an unassailable rating of 127.8. Today Johnny Montana is immortalized in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Johnny Unitas: Best-Ever Quarterback at the Baltimore Colts

Renowned for his strong passing game and never-say-die attitude Johnny Unitas was comparatively slight in stature but big in heart. The Pittsburgh native started his career with his hometown team the Pittsburgh Steelers but reached fame and fortune during his 16-year tenure with the Baltimore Colts.
In addition to his accurate long passes and speed out of the blocks, the man known as the ‘Golden Arm’ is widely considered as one of the greatest sign callers of all-time. Along with being named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player over three seasons, Johnny U was a three-time NFL Champion and made 10 appearances in the NFL Pro Bowl.
Over his long and illustrious career Unitas led the league not once but four times in touchdown passes and passing yards. Today he is arguably best remembered for his role in an unlikely 23-17 overtime victory against the formidable New York Giants. He too was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Fast, agile and a killer at catching passes Jerry Rice is NFL royalty. The wide receiver from Missippi is rated one of the greatest NFL players of all time.
If stats are anything to go by Rice leads the pack in so many ways from touchdowns and receptions to receiving years. With more than 13 Pro Bowl appearances, three Super Bowls and 100 NFL records under his belt, Rice is one of the undisputed greats of gridiron!
