Defending champion Jhonattan Vegas returns to Blaine, Minnesota for the fourth time when the
3M Open gets underway on Thursday, July 24.
The world No. 56 carded a 17-under 267 to beat Max Greyserman (USA) by one stroke in 2024 to register the fourth PGA Tour win of his career.
Vegas seems to enjoy playing on the TPC Twin Cities course after also finishing tied for second in 2021, two strokes behind winner Cameron Champ (USA).
The Venezuelan has taken part in 17 tournaments this year, with his best result coming at the season-opening The Sentry when he finished fourth.
Vegas also achieved another top-10 finish in the PGA Championship, a T5 making it his best performance in a major in 17 attempts.
The 40-year-old golfer, who is the only player to have finished first and second at the 3M Open, is relishing the chance to defend his title.
"It's still in the back of my mind and kind of getting back to a place that I like, that I really enjoy and just trying to defend that trophy so I can't wait," Vegas said.
"It was an incredible week to start with (in 2024), it's a course that I've enjoyed since I went there. I had a little bit of a heartbreak the year before when I finished second and it felt like a tough moment because I felt that I played great that week.
"So that following year I went with a lot of expectations and I was feeling good about it. The third round when I started making birdies from the first hole I just felt like I was putting myself in a position again and obviously having finished second before, it just gave me that really good mojo for that last round."
