UEFA Europa League: Celtic, Arsenal lead British charge in Groups E and F

Scotland’s Celtic and English giants Arsenal will lead the British charge in Groups E and F of the 2019/20 UEFA Europa League as they prepare for home clashes this week.

The matches are part of 24 Matchday 2 fixtures in the group stage of the competition, spread across the evening of Thursday 3 October.



Celtic find themselves tied for second in Group E after opening their campaign with a solid 1-1 draw away to French side Rennes, and will welcome Romania’s CFR Cluj to Glasgow.

The the game sees Italian representatives Lazio, who lost in Cluj last month, looking to bounce back with a home match against Rennes at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.



In Group F, Arsenal will chase a second win when they host Belgium’s Standard Liege. The Gunners opened with an impressive 3-0 win in Germany over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Frankfurt themselves will be looking to bounce back when they visit Estadio Afonso Henriques to play Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes.
