Barcelona will be determined to get their
La Liga title challenge back on track when they welcome newly-promoted Elche to the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on Sunday, November 2.
The Blaugrana have fallen five points behind Real Madrid in the title race after suffering a 2-1 defeat to their arch-rivals in the Spanish capital on October 26.
It was their second loss in three games after a shock 4-1 reverse at Sevilla on October 5 brought an end to Barca's unbeaten start to the season.
The Catalan giants have an impressive record against Los Franjiverdes, winning their last eight meetings and conceding just three goals in the process, while scoring 26 themselves.
Elche have made a promising start to life back in the Spanish top flight, going undefeated in their opening seven matches to emerge as one of the early contenders for European football.
However, Eder Sarabia's side have only managed to pick up one point from their next three encounters and they slipped to a 1-0 loss against Espanyol most recently on October 25.
Marcus Sorg, who was standing in for the suspended Hansi Flick at the Bernabeu, admitted that Barca were ultimately made to pay for committing a series of uncharacteristic mistakes against Real.
"We made a lot of mistakes, more than we usually do," Sorg conceded. "In the end we had more energy to create more opportunities.
"In the end we tried to change the structure. We had to try something, but in the end it didn't work. We tried everything, but we couldn't make it happen."
