Arsenal will be aiming to build on a rare win away to Manchester United when they host Aston Villa in a 2020-21 English Premier League clash at Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening.

The Gunners returned to winning ways in the league with a 1-0 win at Old Trafford to move up to ninth place on the log standings, four points off top spot, thanks to a solitary strike from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

"I didn't want to tell the players we hadn't won here in 14 years," said Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta in the aftermath. "But the team you saw tonight is what we are starting to be. I am proud with the personality we showed at Old Trafford and delighted with the win."

Aubameyang added: "It's a very big win. We knew since the beginning we have to trust the process, Mikel is bringing something very nice."

Villa suffered a second straight defeat, going down 4-3 at home to Southampton in their most recent outing. The result followed a 3-0 loss at Villa Park to Leeds United.

Dean Smith's men had beaten Liverpool 7-2 and Leicester City 1-0 in the two games prior to their loss to Leeds, underlining the unpredictable nature of the Premier League this season.

Arsenal won the corresponding fixture 3-2 last season. Despite being down to 10-men, the North London club scored three times in the final half hour to claim all three points.
