With Xander Schauffele failing to defend his 2024 PGA Championship title a couple of weeks back, the 31-year-old will look to the approaching
PGA Memorial with optimism.
What to know about Schauffele
While Schauffele is yet to win in 2025, the American Golfer reigned supreme at Valhalla for his first career major at the PGA Championship last year.
Schauffele followed his first PGA Championship win with victory at The Open, which was held at the Royal Toon just two months later.
As a bit of history, Schauffele thus became the first golfer to win multiple majors in the same year since 2018, a year in which Brooks Koepka claimed both the U.S. Open and PGA Championship.

“If we had four more days stacked up right now, I feel like I’d have a pretty good chance,” Schauffele said regarding his performances at the
“Just kind of was in better form, and then I had a few things go awry in my swing and made my approach pretty bad. Just kind of lost control of the golf ball there midweek, unfortunately.”
“Just didn’t have enough to score well. But I feel like I’m playing a lot better than what I’m doing. So just got to hang tough.”
