As another key fixture in the Spanish La Liga this coming weekend, city rivals Atletico Madrid and Getafe will lock horns at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on Saturday evening.
The Colchoneros currently hold third place in the La Liga table after recording 54 points from 27 matches. As regulars in the hunt for the LaLiga crown, Atletico have fallen behind the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid this season and are 13 points away from the summit.
Atletico’s most recent result was an exciting 3-2 victory at home against Real Sociedad this past Saturday, marking their third win on the bounce.
The Spanish giants have gained much-needed consistency in recent weeks, recording three wins and two losses in their last five league outings.
Getafe are currently in ninth place and have earned 35 points from 27 matches so far, and recently saw out a 2-0 win over Real Betis on home soil.
In their last five matches, Getafe secured back-to-back wins against Real Madrid and Betis, bringing their run to four wins and one defeat.

With Atletico’s win over Sociedad in mind, Diego Simeone believes his side responded well under adversity while stressing that gaining victory was of utmost importance.
“The team responded very well to a difficult match against an opponent that has been doing very well,” Simeone said.
“We wanted to take control of the game, and we did. They scored two great goals, but the team wanted to press forward into their half, created chances, and the substitutions brought vitality and energy.
“We came away with a very important victory.”
