Starting P9 there was just half a second separating the top nine drivers from Qualifying and Hamilton went on to finish seventh in the race,
Why Hamilton could win the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Grand Prix
The 39-year-old won the inaugural Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in 2021 - winning the race ahead of Red Bull driver Max Verstappen.
As of 2024, this is Hamilton's most recent win; it was also his last pole position until the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix.
The seven-time Formula One world champion will be keen to use his impeccable experience to win the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix this weekend.
What did he say?
"It was a tough race today. For sure there is some disappointment within the team as we hoped that it would be a better evening," Hamilton said after the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix.
"We were close to several other cars and the degradation was high. The issues we faced obviously cost us some pace so that was frustrating.
"Ultimately if I had qualified better, naturally I would have been a good couple of places further ahead as my last stint was good," he continued.
"Today was about discovery and we found out a lot about the car. There’s plenty of areas we can improve on and I’m sure we will as a team."
