Former champion Nick Taylor will be looking to achieve a rare feat at the Canadian Open from 11-14 June.
The world no. 62 became the first Canadian to win his country's national open since Pat Fletcher in 1954 when he carded a 17-under 271 to beat Tommy Fleetwood in a playoff three years ago.
Only three Canadians have won the title twice - Charlie Murray (1906, 1911), Albert Murray (1908, 1913) and Karl Keffer (1909, 1914) - the last of which came before World War I.
Taylor is bidding to join that illustrious list as he goes in search of his sixth victory on the PGA Tour and a first since the Sony Open in Hawaii in January 2025.
The 38-year-old has just one top-10 finish in 2026, a T9 at the Cadillac Championship, although he made the top 20 at the Sony Open in Hawaii (T13) and the Truist Championship (T14).
Taylor was in contention at the second major of the year as he went into the back nine in the final round of the PGA Championship one shot off the lead.
But the Winnipeg native's game fell apart, with bogeys on the 10th, 13th, 14th and 15th holes seeing him finish nine strokes behind winner Aaron Rai in T26.
"I kind of stopped trusting what I was doing, especially with some trouble left," Taylor told TSN afterwards.
"So there were some decent shots that just didn't pan out as well and made bogeys from there. It's the first time I've been in legit contention. With nine holes to go I had a real chance."
