Ai Ogura heads to the Netherlands MotoGP motivated to go a step further and secure his maiden victory of the 2026 season.

At the Czechia MotoGP on 21 June, the Japanese Grand Prix motorcycle racer delivered a battling performance, finishing second behind Marc Márquez.
Ogura fought hard throughout the main race, engaging in an exciting duel with the eight-time champion, and showed strong race pace on the Aprilia after claiming his maiden pole position.

The 25-year-old sits fifth in the 2026 MotoGP Riders' standings with 134 points.
The former Moto2 world champion trails championship leader Marco Bezzecchi by around 46 points.

“Good to lead the race at least for two-three laps. I enjoyed the fresh air and the race was really tough. They both went really quick from the beginning and I tried to keep up with their pace but towards the end I think I had a really good pace too," Ogura said after the 2025 Czechia MotoGP.
"But Marc had something more… so yeah, happy for the second position I guess. The problem I got during the race was different from yesterday to today and was really difficult to understand. In four-five laps I needed the time to adjust and adapt my riding style to it and yeah, that’s where I lost the race.
"So good experience anyway. We learn a lot from this weekend. So happy happy happy about the weekend but to finish in first position we need to have something more so we keep running.”
