The
2025 Canadian Grand Prix is scheduled to take place in the largest city in the province of Quebec, the second-largest in Canada, called Montreal, on June 15.
What to know about the Canadian Grand Prix
The event has been part of the Formula One World Championship since 1967 and in 2005, the Canadian Grand Prix was the most watched Formula One Grand Prix in the world.
The race moved to its current home at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in 1978 and it is scheduled to take place annually as part of the Formula One World Championship until 2031.

The Spanish Grand Prix, which was the ninth round of the 2025 Formula One World Championship, was won by Oscar Piastri of McLaren on June 1.
McLaren's Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc of Ferrari finished second and third, respectively, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Standings
Piastri is still placed at the top of the World Drivers' Championship standings, nine races into the current campaign.
Norris, Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen and George Russell of Mercedes are placed second, third, and fourth, respectively, in the standings, as they battle to catch Piastri.
Looking at the World Constructors' Championship standings, McLaren are still placed at the top, followed by Mercedes, Ferrari and Mercedes respectively.
Favourites
All eyes will be on Leclerc, who is placed fifth in the World Drivers' Championship standings, Russell, Piastri, Verstappen and Norris at the Canadian Grand Prix as the top five-ranked drivers battle for glory.
However, Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton, who is currently placed sixth in the standings, is the joint-most successful driver in Canadian Grand Prix history with seven wins and will be looking to set a new record this weekend.

"Today was definitely not what I was hoping for. I felt good going into the race, after a pretty good qualifying and the car performing better," Hamilton said after finishing sixth at the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix.
"But the balance felt off throughout the race and we lacked pace from the start. We don’t have an explanation for it, so we’ll have to go away and look into the data and any underlying issues.
"Congratulations to Charles, he did a great job and fully deserved the podium."
