What to know about Cantlay
The American star had a successful amateur career and was the number-one golfer in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for 55 weeks.
Cantlay has won eight times on the PGA Tour as well as the 2021 FedEx Cup and he also won Web.com Tour's Colombia Championship.

Cantlay took a short break after he competed in the 2024 PGA Tournament where he made the cut, but he finished 53rd.
The man nicknamed Patty Ice is currently placed ninth on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) and his best overall ranking is third place.
Why Cantlay is one of the favourites
Cantlay will be making his eighth start at Muirfield Village Golf Club, where he has twice won the Memorial Tournament, in 2019 and 2021.
Patty Ice, who secured a top-four finish in two of his last seven appearances in PGA Tour events, has what it takes to win his third Memorial Tournament title.

“I think it really demands you shape the golf ball off the tee, and it paints a really good picture for what you're supposed to do on every hole, which is something I like,” Cantlay said after he made a hole-in-one at the 200-yard, par-3 seventh hole Friday at the 2024 RBC Heritage, his 16th hole of the day.
“And you have to drive it really straight, which is one of my strengths. “I'm going to keep trying to do my game plan as much as possible, and that's in general be aggressive off the tee but not necessarily air it out.
"Really try to hit the right shape shot off the tee and leave myself a lot of wedges … I think it's a golf course with some local knowledge, and I've played this tournament a lot and played well. So I'll carry all that good momentum coming into the weekend.”
