2022/23 UEFA Nations League

League A - Group 3
Matchday 4

England v Hungary

Molineux Stadium
Wolverhampton, England
Tuesday, 14 June 2022
Kick-off is at 20h45
England will be targeting their first victory in the UEFA Nations League when Hungary arrive at Molineux for a Group 3 encounter on Tuesday, June 14.
The Three Lions prop up the group with two points after being held to a goalless draw by an inexperienced Italy at the same venue on Saturday.
Gareth Southgate's side started their campaign on a disappointing note after losing 1-0 to the Magyars in Budapest on June 4 before clinching a 1-1 against Germany four days later.

Harry Kane was given the night off against the Azzurri and Southgate bemoaned England's failure to take their chances in Wolverhampton, while expressing concern on their reliance on the Tottenham striker and Raheem Sterling for goals.
"We want to win games and are disappointed not to win We have two or three very good chances that we have to take," he said.
"You don't have that many chances against top teams. We would like to have created more from the possession that we had. We are very reliant on Harry and Raheem for our goals at the moment and that is a concern."
Hungary are second in the group, two points ahead of the English, having bounced back from a 2-1 defeat to the European champions with a 1-1 draw against Die Mannschaft on Saturday.
Marco Rossi's team took a shock lead at the Puskas Arena through Zsolt Nagy after only six minutes, but Jonas Hofmann hit back for the Germans just three minutes later to earn a share of the spoils.

Rossi believes the Magyars are beginning to garner respect on the international stage and hailed the never-say-die attitude of his players to take the fight to their more illustrious opponents in the group.
"The boys played really well. It wasn't easy, it took a lot of energy. My team showed me very important skills," he said.
"We can be happy with the result but we want to improve in possession. The most important thing is that no-one can be sure of getting points against us and they have to show our team respect.
"We've shown that we can run, fight, give our heart and soul. This is what I like best about the team: that they never give up. They always fight."

Head-to-Head record:

Matches - 25
England - 16
Hungary - 6
Draws - 3
