Ducati rider Johann Zarco will be determined to climb to the top of the 2021 Riders' standings by winning the German MotoGP on June 20.

The French star, who is best known for winning the 2015 and 2016 Moto2 World Championships, has secured four podiums so far in 2021.

However, all of them have been second-places and he also finished second in the most recent race which was the Catalan MotoGP on June 6.

The Catalan MotoGP was won by KTM rider Miguel Oliveira, who claimed the maiden win of the current campaign.

Ducati duo of Zarco and Jack Miller finished second and third respectively at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló, Spain.

Fabio Quartararo of Yamaha is still sitting at the top of the Riders' standings, while Zarco and Miller are placed second and third respectively on the table.

Zarco is 14 points behind leader Quartararo and he will be looking to climb to the top of the standings by winning the German MotoGP.

Zarco explained that the most important thing for him is to continue scoring strong points against standings leader Quartararo.

“For me [it] will be nice to win but clearly second place, 20 points is always amazing for me," Zarco said.

"So, I’m not too worried for the victory and don’t put too much pressure on myself because I believe it can come when everything will be even better in control. “But I’m still growing up on the bike and this is a nice feeling.

“I feel the Ducati has huge potential, I’m trying to do my best to use it every time better and better, and when all the situations are under good control maybe I will have the victory.”

Yamaha are placed at the top of Constructors' Championship standings and they are followed by Ducati and KTM respectively.
