The Portugal international came into this campaign having established himself as a Manchester United's star player in his debut season (2019/20) with the English football powerhouse.

Fernandes maintained his brilliant performances for the Red Devils which saw him scoop the Premier League Player of the Month accolades for November and December 2020.

The Premier League Player of the Season nominee finished the term as one of the top goalscorers in the league with 18 goals - only behind Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane and he was also second among the top assist providers with 12 assists - behind Kane.

Known for his finishing, dribbling, and speed, Salah maintained his good performances for the Reds throughout the season, and his goal against West Ham United in January 2021 was voted as Premier League Goal of the Month.

The Egyptian King as Salah is affectively known to the Liverpool fans finished the season with 22 goals and he narrowly missed out on the Premier League Golden Boot award by one goal and he was nominated for the league's Player of the Season accolade.

Ruben Dias

The Portugal international hit the ground running after joining Manchester City from Portuguese football powerhouse SL Benfica as he quickly became the team's best defender.

Dias was named the Manchester City Player of the Month for November 2020, following a series of very strong defensive performances and he was praised as being a key factor in the Citizens regaining the Premier League title that season.

The strong tackling defender brought composure, leadership and stability back to the Citizens' defence and he was deservedly nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season and Manchester City Player of the Season awards.

Dias won both accolades and he also named FWA Player of the Year ahead of Harry Kane and Kevin De Bruyne, and becoming the first defender to win the award since Steve Nicol in the 1988/89 season.

The 24-year-old thanked those who voted for him after he scooped the Premier League Player of the Season.

"Fantastic to finish the season off by being named Premier League Player of the Season! A reward for all the team who worked so hard to bring our fans the title," Dias said.
