Chelsea look to keep up top-four ambitions

2018/19 Premier League

Round 37 preview

3-6 May 2019

Chelsea will look to maintain their place in the top four of the Premier League when the penultimate round of the 2018/19 season is held this coming weekend.

The Blues retained their fourth spot on the log when they held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford this past Sunday, with Marcos Alonso cancelling out Juan Mata’s opener for the Red Devils.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

With Tottenham Hotspur looking likely to secure one of the two remaining UEFA Champions league berths for next season, Chelsea are seemingly in a three-way battle with United and Arsenal.

Maurizio Sarri’s side will hope that a win at home to Watford on Sunday coincides with more disappointing results for Arsenal and United, who face Brighton & Hove Albion (home) and Huddersfield Town (away) respectively.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Dele Alli.

Chelsea, though, are on a three-game winless run in the Premier League and the match against the Hornets comes in the middle of a two-legged UEFA Europa League semifinal against Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt.
