As a club banking on UEFA Champions League qualification this season, Atalanta will now prepare to take on Monza at Stadio Brianteo on Sunday, 4 May.
Current form
Despite being unbeaten in their last three matches, Atalanta’s recent 1-1 draw against Lecce left Gian Gasperini frustrated given his side’s bid to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
As it stands, Atalanta are third on the table with 65 points to their name after 34 matches played. Monza on the other hand find themselves at the base of the table after accumulating just 15 points in the league so far.
On the back of a 2-0 loss against Juventus, Monza last tasted victory on 13 January, where they bagged a 2-1 win against Fiorentina on home soil.

Atalanta are expected to be without the services of Mateo Retegui this coming weekend after the forward suffered a muscular injury in the game against Lecce. Monza on the other hand could be without the services of Roberto Cagliardini and Silvere Ganvoula who both suffered injuries on the 25 April.

With Atalanta eyeing a Champions League berth, Gian Gasperini has urged his side to be complacent during the latter phases of the season.
“Those behind us are more worried. I too am worried when I see this approach, where it seems as if it is ‘normal’ that Atalanta will qualify for the Champions League. I see some arrogance here and that worries me,” Gasperini said.
“We will fight to the end to achieve this great target.”
