On Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, the MTN Super League witnessed a flurry of midweek action with week 28 fixtures taking place across various regions. The bustling afternoon saw one match in Lusaka, one in Kabwe, one in the northwestern part of the country, and three matches in the Copperbelt region.

A highly anticipated local derby unfolded in Lusaka as Zanaco FC clashed with Green Buffaloes at the Sunset Stadium. The intense encounter culminated in a 1-1 draw, leaving Zaanco and its supporters disheartened as Buffaloes managed to equalize in the dying moments of the game. Despite Zanaco's early lead with a goal from Cameroonian Moussa Souleymanou in the 23rd minute, Buffaloes persisted with relentless pressure.
Zanaco's defense held firm until they were reduced to 10 men just before halftime when Kenyan John Ochieng received his marching orders. In the second half, Buffaloes intensified their attack, eventually finding the equalizer from a free-kick expertly taken by Charles Majapa in added time. The draw left Zanaco in 9th place with 36 points, while Buffaloes secured the 10th spot with 35 points.

With this win, Warriors climbed to 6th place with 41 points.

Meanwhile, in Ndola, Forest Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw by Prison Leopards after David Obashi's late equalizer in the 81st minute cancelled out Eric Chomba's earlier goal.

In Kitwe, the defending champions Power Dynamos secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Mutondo Stars, courtesy of Frederick Mulambia's 57th-minute strike. Similarly, Nkana FC claimed a hard-fought 2-1 win against Konkola Blades at the Nkana Stadium, with goals from Idris Mbombo and Jacob Ngulube.
