Lewis Hamilton takes his renewed form this season to the Azerbaijan Grand Prix as he looks to add a second Baku victory.

The Ferrari driver retired from the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid on 13 September after starting fourth.
Hamilton retired early, ending his afternoon before he could influence the fight at the front, leaving Ferrari with a disappointing result from Madrid.
Formula One ambitions
Hamilton has already secured a win in 2026 and occupies third place in the Drivers’ Championship with 191 points from 14 races.
The 41-year-old trails championship leader Kimi Antonelli (292) and sits 20 points behind George Russell in second, with Lando Norris close behind on 186.
Why Hamilton could win at the Azerbaijan GP
Hamilton, who has a strong recent record in Baku—winning in 2018 and regularly featuring at the front—is now targeting another victory.
The seven-time Formula One world champion remains a threat whenever the Ferrari performs well, and the street circuit rewards precision and racecraft.

"Firstly, a big thank you to the team for the job they did throughout the weekend. We were in a position to fight for a strong result and the car had been performing well," Hamilton said after the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix.
"Unfortunately, we encountered an issue with the braking system very quickly into the race which brought our afternoon to an early end. It’s disappointing, especially considering all the effort that went into the weekend both here at the track and back at the factory.
"We will turn our attention to the next race and do our best to come back strong there."
