2025-26 Italian Serie A

Matchday 3

Fiorentina v Napoli

Stadio Artemio Franchi

Florence, Italy

Saturday, 14 September 2025

Kick-off is at 20h35

Napoli will be aiming to maintain their perfect start to the 2025-26 Serie A season when they make the journey north-east to face Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Saturday, September 13.

The defending champions have been flawless so far in the new campaign, scoring three goals while conceding none after the opening two rounds.

Antonio Conte's side beat newly-promoted Sassuolo 2-0 on August 23 and they edged Cagliari 1-0 seven days later to go into the international break in a four-way tie with Juventus, Cremonese and Roma on six points.

La Viola are also unbeaten this term, but they are way down in 12th place after picking up two points from their first two matches.

The Florence outfit were denied all three points on August 24 after the Islanders scored a last-gasp equaliser to rescue a 1-1 draw before playing out to a goalless stalemate with Torino the following weekend.

Stefano Pioli's side failed to take any points off Napoli last term, losing 3-0 in the corresponding fixture on January 4 and going down 2-1 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on March 9.

Conte was pleased to see everyone in the team play their part in the win over Cagliari, although they had to wait until the 95th minute to score through Frank Anguissa.

"It seemed like a cursed match. When Anguissa scored I screamed: finally. The boys did well to be patient and persevere in the offensive phase while maintaining balance. We showed determination and ferocity and that completely satisfies me," the Italian said.

"It was a true team performance; we never lost our composure and were able to wait for the right moments to attack.

"It's an important victory because the group showed they're on top of things, and I'm also happy that a player from Napoli's youth team, like [Giuseppe] Ambrosino, contributed to this success."
