With AC Milan occupying top spot in Serie A currently, the iconic Italian club will now shift their attention to Pisa following a successful outing last time out.
Milan moved into pole position on the
Serie A table this past Sunday owing to a 2-1 win over Fiorentina on home soil.
After Napoli’s uncharacteristic defeat against Torino in matchday seven, a brace by Rafael Leao guided his side to leapfrog Antonio Conte’s men to first position.
Pisa on the other hand, are bottom of the table after their matchday seven obligations.
The 20
th placed team’s woes compounded following a 0-0 draw with Verona at Arena Garibaldi – Stadio Romeo Anconetani last Saturday.
Pisa are yet to win a match in the league so far, while they jotted down three draws and four losses heading into their latest gameweek.
Reflecting on Milan’s win against Fiorentina, Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri urged his side not to become complacent in their bid for Serie A glory.
“We aren’t sending any messages. We must enjoy this win,” Allegri said.
“Many points are still needed for our goal, and from tomorrow we must recover as much energy as possible.
“If we play like this, we will perform well. We must play with this enthusiasm but not overdo it, because the journey is still long.”
