After a demoralising loss to Atalanta last Saturday, Fabio Pisacane will hope for more from his Cagliari stars as they prepare to take on Pisa at Unipol Domus this weekend.
Cagliari were moments away from securing a draw against Atalanta this past weekend, however, an 81st minute strike from Gianluca Scamacca separated the two sides in Bergamo.
In turn, Cagliari were unable to build on their 1-0 win against AS Roma during matchday 14 and will go into the next game sitting in 15th position. Also, Cagliari recorded just one win in their last five games and picked up two losses and two draws in their last five matches.
Pisa on the other hand, are in 19th place and are currently on a run of three straight defeats in Serie A.
Following a 1-0 defeat against Lecce on Saturday, Pisa have also jotted down losses against Inter Milan and Parma respectively. Their poor run of results has seen them accumulate 10 points from 15 matches played so far.
Speaking after Cagliari’s defeat against Atalanta, coach Fabio Pisacane remained proud of his team who he believes are improving game after game.
"I'm satisfied because the team continues to improve match after match,” Pisacane said.
I ask the players to enjoy themselves, but also to show ferocity when they don't have the ball at their feet."
