As one of the teams fighting for a place in the UEFA Champions League for next season, Aston Villa could record their second victory on the bounce when they face Fulham away on Saturday.

In what was one of the most enthralling fixtures in the Premier League this past weekend, Villa triumphed in a thrilling 4-3 win against Sunderland at home on Sunday.

Following a see-saw of goals during the dying stages of the match, Villa needed a 93rd minute winner from Tammy Abraham to collect maximum points at Villa Park. As it stands, Villa are fourth on the log, level on points with Manchester United (58) with five games left to play.

Regarding their form, Villa have now recorded two wins, two losses and one draw in their last five Premier League games.

Fulham could only manage a 0-0 draw with Brentford during Matchday 33, taking their tally to 45 points from 33 fixtures.

Following a run of one victory, two defeats and two draws, Fulham will enter the next round of Premier League action in 12th position.

In assessing Aston Villa’s goal-laden win over Sunderland, an exhausted Unai Emery expressed that he went through a rollercoaster of emotions on the touchline, while he mentioned that Villa are highly demanding in their game play.

“We suffered on the field,” Emery said.

“It was a tough match, but we did a very good match. In the last few minutes, they scored two goals and the chance we conceded in minute 90, it was a crazy moment.

“We are always playing so, so demanding in our structure, playing organised and disciplined and trying always to play respecting each task.

“I finished the game exhausted. I expressed all my emotions.”
