2025-26 Spanish La Liga
Matchday 34
Villarreal v Levante
Estadio de la Ceramica
Villarreal, Spain
Saturday, 2 May 2026
Kick-off is at 14h00
Villarreal are still on course to record their highest-ever points in a season as they prepare to welcome La Liga strugglers Levante to La Ceramica on Saturday, May 2 in the early kick-off.
The Yellow Submarine set that record in 2007-08 when they accrued 77 points under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini to finish runners-up to Real Madrid.
Marcelino's side beat Celta Vigo 2-1 on April 26 to make it three wins from their last five matches as they moved on to 65 points, five clear of Atletico Madrid in the race for third place.
With 15 points still left to play for, the Castellon outfit could eclipse the tally set 18 years ago, although they'd need to win their final five games.

The Frogs kept their top-flight hopes alive with a 0-0 draw against Espanyol on April 27 which saw them close within two points of safety.
Luis Castro's side have now picked up seven points from their last three outings to keep gaining ground on Sevilla (18th) and Real Mallorca (17th) after both teams lost on matchday 32.
Levante fell to Villarreal by a single goal in the reverse fixture on February 2 when Georges Mikautadze scored in the 57th minute to clinch a 1-0 victory for the visitors.
Marcelino insists the main objective is to secure UEFA Champions League football for a second consecutive season and believes they almost have it in the bag.
"This Villarreal season seems extraordinary to me," he said. "It is a victory that almost seals a second participation in the Champions League.
"It is a historic season and we have to thank all the players. With five matches left we are five points ahead of Atletico de Madrid and 15 ahead of Betis. It seems like an unbeatable points tally to me."
