As City won both the 2022/23 Premier League and the 2022/23 FA Cup, their opponents will be the Premier League runners-up, Arsenal.

Favourites

City are the clear favourites to win this year's Community Shield after dominating English and European football last term as they also won the UEFA Champions League title.

However, Arsenal will fancy their chances against the Citizens with London giants having made high-profile signings namely, Declan Rice and Kai Havertz.

Quotes

Arsenal held their pre-season camp in the USA as part of their preparations for the 2023 Shield Commnuty and 2023/24 season.

"I think it was a challenge because we had a lot of travelling and a lot of things to adapt to," Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said.

"But I think the team showed a big capacity to adapt to different times, to different pitches, to the heat, to different opponents. It was a really good test but I’m really pleased with the outcome," he added.

"We certainly feel a big difference now in the States with the support we are having. We were in three cities, Washington DC, New York and now in LA and it’s getting bigger and bigger. So thank you so much to everybody because we really feel at home now here."
