What to know about Conners
The Canadian golfer has won two professional tournaments since he turned pro in 2015 after missing the cut at the Masters, but he was still the best-scoring amateur at +5.
Having also played on the PGA Tour Canada and PGA Tour Latinoamérica, Conners' best performance in a golf major came at the 2022 Masters when he finished sixth.

The Listowel-born golfer took a short break from golf after competing in the 2024 Players Championship in Florida, USA where he finished 13th.
Therefore, Conners is placed 47th on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) ahead of this year's Valero Texas Open and his best overall ranking is 25th.
Why Conners is among the favourites
The former Kent State University student tends to bring his A game to the Valero Texas Open having won the tournament in 2019 and 2023.
In 2019, Conners won the Valero Texas Open by two strokes over Charley Hoffman and in 2023, he closed with a 4-under 68 for a one-stroke victory over rookie Sam Stevens.
