2026/27 Premier League, Matchday 7
Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal
City Ground, Nottingham
Sunday 18 October, 17:30
Arsenal will chase a key Premier League win away to Nottingham Forest, with the teams set to meet in a Matchday 7 clash at the City Ground on the late afternoon of Sunday 18 October, kick-off at 17:30.
Form
Nottingham continued to struggle in the Premier League when they suffered a 3-1 loss away to Crystal Palace on Sunday – despite claiming an early lead through Dan Ndoye. Forest have managed just one win this season.
Arsenal returned to winning form in the Premier League with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory at home to Leeds United this past weekend. The Gunners fell behind to James Justin early in the second half, but fought back via Ricciardo Calafiori and Bruno Guimaraes to record a fifth win from six league matches.
Team news
Forest will be without Igor Jesus and Nicolo Savona, while defender Nikola Milenkovic is a major doubt.
Ahead of facing Lille in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, Arsenal have some notable injury concerns: Piero Hincapie (ankle), Christos Tzolis (hamstring) and William Saliba (back) are all set to be sidelined.
Head-to-head
Nottingham and Arsenal have met in 105 matches across all competitions. The Gunners have claimed 54 wins compared to 29 for Forest, while 22 games have been drawn.
Arsenal took four points off Nottingham in last season’s Premier League meetings, with a 3-0 home win in September 2025, and a goalless draw at the City Ground in January 2026.
Quotes
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta:
"The last time that we put our shirts on, something was missing and we need to be very conscious of that - from being exceptional and being the champions to being extremely average like in that game is a really thin line.
“So if you don't want it more than the opponent, you are not able to cope emotionally with certain situations, you're going to suffer, and we all suffered and we didn't enjoy one bit that game, but then you have to learn the lesson and we certainly have done that."
