2026 French Open
ATP Tour
Roland Garros
Stade Roland Garros, Paris, France
24 May – 7 June
Jannik Sinner will start his bid to complete the career Grand Slam when he faces ATP 165th-ranked Clément Tabur in the first round on 26 May.
What to know about Sinner
The Italian superstar is the reigning world No. 1 and has won four Grand Slam titles (Australian Open 2024 & 2025, US Open 2024, Wimbledon 2025).
Sinner reached the 2025 French Open final (runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz), his best-ever performance in the tournament.
Why Sinner could win the French Open
Sinner boasts an incredibly complete game — elite baseline consistency, a huge serve, and improving athleticism on clay.
After reaching the 2025 final and dominating the 2026 clay swing, the 24-year-old is hoping to complete the Career Grand Slam and cement his status as the best player in the world.
What was said
“It has been a very long but very positive period. I’m lucky to be in this position. I think it’s always better to be in a position where you win and you start to feel tired than you feel very good but you lose a couple of rounds," Sinner said ahead of the 2026 French Open.
“I try to have a good balance now at the practice court… understand also when to push and then hopefully be ready for the first-round matches. I think the excitement also helps you find a bit more energy during the tournament.
“It’s a very special tournament (French Open) for me, and it has been increasingly better year after year, and last year we were very close. But the feelings and the connection with the crowd was very nice. A lot of kids, which I really like to see. Of course I still think back to what happened, but still [I have] very positive feelings.”
Head-to-Head
Jannik Sinner and Clément Tabur have never faced each other before.
This first-round match at the 2026 French Open will be their very first meeting (H2H: 0-0).
