A hat-trick from Ollie Watkins spearheaded Villa to a 7-2 win over champions Liverpool earlier this month in what has been the standout result of the league season thus far.

Villa boss Dean Smith was understandably delighted with the win and will be hoping for more of the same from his chargers.

"It has to rank at the top to get a performance and a result like that against an exceptional team," Smith said. "It takes something special. It was a special performance from the players.

For the fans

"I'm extremely proud. We executed the game plan to perfection. It wasn't just the game plan but the work rate, work ethic.

'If you get outworked by Liverpool you get beat. They're an exceptional pressing team. Very, very proud of every single one of them."

Leicester have embodied the unpredictable start to the league season, following a 5-2 win over Manchester City with a 3-0 loss at home to West Ham United last time out. Despite the loss, the Foxes head into this weekend's round of fixtures in third place on the log standings, level on points with Villa who boast a perfect three from three record.

A brace apiece from Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes spearheaded Leicester to a 4-0 win over Villa in the corresponding fixture last season. The Foxes have scored four goals against Villa in their last two games and are unbeaten in five league matches versus this weekend's opponents.
