After faltering for some 27 years, the New York Knicks will take on the San Antonio Spurs in their first NBA Finals since 1999 after seeing off stiff competition along the way.
The Knicks first gave themselves a chance at glory by ending the regular NBA season in third position in the Eastern Conference.
They then met the Atlanta Hawks in the Round one Play-off phase and commenced the series with a 113-102 win at Madison Square Gardens on 19 April supplemented by Jalen Brunson’s 29-point haul.
The Atlanta Hawks then recorded two wins on the spin, while the Knicks levelled the series at 2-2 in Game four. After regaining the series lead with a 126-97 win in Game five, the New York outfit showcased their class in Game six with a mammoth 140-89 victory at State Farm Arena on 1 May to complete a 4-2 series coup.
It was in the Eastern Conference semi-finals where the New York Knicks gathered steam by completing a 4-0 series win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Their dominance in the series was on full display during Game four, where they secured a 144-114 win at the Wells Fargo Center on 10 May, as Joel Embiid scored 24 as his side’s top scorer on the day.

Moving onto the Conference finals, the Knicks were once again firing at all cylinders when they met the Cleveland Cavaliers who finished fourth in the regular campaign.
The Knicks marched to a 3-0 series lead ahead of Game four before travelling to the Rocket Arena on 26 May where they claimed another dominant 130-93 win over their opponents as the likes of Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby and Mikel Bridges stole the show in Cleveland.
