Zambia will battle with Comoros in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier at the National Heroes Stadium on June 7.  
 
The Chipolopolo suffered a 3-1 loss to Ivory Coast away in their last competitive match which was the 2023 AFCON qualifier on June 3.
 
As a result, Zambia are winless in their last two competitive matches having recorded two successive defeats against Ivory Coast and Tunisia. 
 
The 2012 African champions are undefeated in their last two home matches in the AFCON qualifiers having recorded one win and one draw.
 
“I am so disappointed with the reaction of my team but when you play against a team like the Ivory Coast," Zambia coach Aljosa Asanovic said.
 
"You sometimes think that you can get a chance but tonight we didn’t have enough concentration. We have the next Tuesday the game at home and home games are very important games.
 
“We will continue working hard and we are waiting for the game at home and again I am so disappointed with how we reacted tonight.”
 
Meanwhile, Comoros claimed a 2-0 win over Lesotho in their last competitive game which was the 2023 AFCON qualifier on June 3.

The Coelacanths have won two of their last three competitive games while the other match ended in a defeat to Cameroon before they faced Lesotho.
 
Comoros are winless in their last two matches on the road in the AFCON qualifiers having registered one defeat and one draw as the visitors.  
 
The last meeting between Zambia and Comoros was on 4 September 2011.
 
Chipolopolo emerged as 2-1 winners in the 2012 AFCON qualifier which was played at the Stade International Saïd Mohamed Cheikh de Mitsamiouli in Mitsamiouli.
