Serie A table toppers Inter Milan are well on course to challenge for the trophy this season as they prepare to do battle against the lowly Pisa on home soil on Friday.
Inter will go into Friday’s match in an optimistic run of form at the top of the table. In their last league outing, Inter jotted down a 1-0 win away at Udinese as Lautaro Martínez scored a decisive 20th minute goal to take their tally to 49 points after 21 games played.
The Italian giants have now bagged four wins and one draw in their last five outings and stand the chance of winning three games in a row.
Pisa on the other hand, have endured a difficult season and will go into their next Serie A assignment sitting in 19th place on the log.
In their last match, Pisa and Atalanta saw out a 1-1 draw at Stadio Romeo Anconetani last Friday and have accumulated just 14 points all season.
Across their last five Serie A fixtures, Pisa recorded three draws and two losses and are three points away from the safe zone.

Reflecting on Inter’s win over Udinese and their season overall, Cristian Chivu noted that his team is sticking to the script as they hope to bag their first Scudetto since the 2023/24 campaign.
“I have many attackers who complement each other and approach their work responsibly. I think they are doing a great job,” Chivu said.
“The whole team have been working excellently lately. There is a huge desire to develop the project and to be competitive. We want to continue the season in the same spirit.
“Getting into the players’ heads and changing their habits is not easy. I congratulate the lads because they have always been ready to implement our ideas.”
