Dortmund chase revenge against Inter

2019-20 UEFA Champions League

Matchday 4

5-6 November 2019

Borussia Dortmund will chase revenge against Internazionale when the teams meet for a UEFA Champions League Group F clash at the Westfalenstadion on Tuesday 5 November 2019, kick-off at 22:00 CAT.

Inter defeated Dortmund 2-0 at San Siro in the teams’ meeting last month, with goals from Lautaro Martinez and Antonio Candreva. The result saw the Italian giants move into second place on the log – level with Dortmund on four points, but ranked above on head-to-heads, while leaders Barcelona are on seven points.

Inter forward Lautaro Martinez.

The German side will be determined to gain revenge on home soil and put themselves back in the qualification positions in the top half of the group standings, though overcoming the Nerazzurri will be no easy task.

“While we failed to create something ourselves, we hardly allowed them anything as well,” said Dortmund defender Mats Hummels. “It was a 0-0 match until minute 80, when we had to open up, with the difference that the score was not 0-0. At home we will try to play a lot more attacking and dominant, we'll press more.”

Inter will be looking to use their counter-attacking power against Dortmund, with a draw or victory set to put them in a great position to go on and secure qualification for the knockout phase of the elite European competition.

Inter manager Antonio Conte

"We will have to continue on this path in the next group games, following what [manager Antonio] Conte tells us every day and improving ourselves. It will be hard for opponents to play against us,” said Lautaro Martínez.

The other Group F clash on Tuesday night will see leaders Barcelona look for a second win over Slavia Prague, having won 2-1 in the Czech Republic in October.
