Atletico Madrid will take on Espanyol in the 2019/20 Spanish La Liga match at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday.
 

 
Atletico held Sevilla to a 1-1 draw away in their previous league game which was played on Saturday, November 2.
 
The draw extended Barcelona's unbeaten run in the league to eight matches having recorded six draws and two wins. 
 
They are undefeated in their last 13 home matches in the league having registered four draws and nine wins.
 
Atletico will be targeting nothing but a victory when they square off with a struggling Espanyol side.
 

 
Meanwhile, Espanyol were beaten 2-1 by Valencia at home in their previous league game which was played on Sunday, November 3. 
 
The White and Blue are now winless in their last two league matches having lost to Athletic Bilbao before facing Valencia.

They have lost two of their last three away matches in the league, while the other game ended in a win. 
 
Espanyol head coach Pablo Machin says he takes responsibility for the team's poor results ahead of their trip to Madrid. 
 
"I am not a coach who will blame any player and less publicly," Machin said. 
 
"I worry that we do many things well and the results do not come."
 
The last league meeting between Atletico and Espanyol was on the 4th of May 2019.
 
The White and Blue secured a 3-0 win at the RCDE Stadium.
