La Liga
Matchday 11
Athletic Bilbao vs Real Sociedad
San Mames
Bilbao, Spain
Sunday, 1 November 2026
Kick-off is at 22:00
After getting back to winning ways in La Liga last time out, Athletic Bilbao could make it two wins on the spin when they go toe-to-toe with Real Sociedad on home soil this Sunday.
As it stands, Bilbao find themselves in eighth position on the table with 12 points after nine games played.
Bilbao has battled consistency issues over the last few weeks, recording a draw, a defeat, and a loss in their last three outings. However, Bilbao managed to get back into the winning column when they recorded an emphatic 4-0 win over Getafe at home during matchday 10.
Real Sociedad on the other hand, has experienced better fortunes recently, sitting in fifth position with 19 points from 10 matches.
Sociedad were recently boosted by a 2-1 win against Levante at home this past weekend, a result that capped off a positive four-match winning streak.

In reflecting on Bilbao’s win over Getafe, Edin Terzic revealed that a victory was much needed given their inconsistent spell of late.
Terzic thus noted that his side took a step forward in their campaign and will now look to build on their win during matchday 10.
“It was a match we had to win and that’s what we set out to show right from the start. We had some really good spells during the game and performed very well as a team,” Terzic said.
“Three points are always good. I like to win even in training. I’ve probably been the most disappointed person over the last few weeks at not being able to win.
"Today there were some very good moments for the team as a whole and for some players individually. We’re very pleased and we’ll build on this. If we play like we did today, we’ll have more good moments. We’ve taken a positive step forward.”
