Matchday 9
ACF Fiorentina vs Atalanta BC
Stadio Artemio Franchi
Florence, Italy
Thursday, 29 October 2026
Kick-off is at 21:45
ACF Fiorentina play host to Atalanta BC at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on 29 October, keen to leverage their home pitch advantage and secure vital Serie A points.
Head-to-Head
Fiorentina and Atalanta last squared off in May 2026 during a hard-fought 1-1 league draw in Florence.
The Viola hold the advantage in top-flight head-to-head encounters between the teams, taking 54 victories to Atalanta’s 34 across 124 Serie A meetings, alongside 36 draws.
Atalanta are undefeated in their last two matches against Fiorentina having registered one win and one draw.
Team News
Franco Mastantuono, Mateo Pellegrino and Álex Jiménez will carry Fiorentina's hopes of securing a win, while dealing with squad availability issues as Arthur Atta, Luca Ranieri, and Fabiano Parisi remain sidelined through injury.
Atalanta's key players, Nikola Krstović, Éderson, and Eljif Elmas, will set the tempo, but the team is navigating a long absentee list as Giorgio Scalvini, Giacomo Raspadori, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Sead Kolašinac, Isak Hien, Thomas Pompei, and Odilon Kossounou remain sidelined with physical setbacks.
Quotes
"Considering how the situation unfolded, we have to accept the result. We knew it was going to be a difficult game," Atalanta manager Maurizio Sarri said after his side's 4-4 draw with Frosinone Calcio on 25 October.
"Truthfully, we feared this match against Frosinone ahead of time, and after such a wild encounter, we have to be content with coming away with a point. It's disappointing, especially given how the result came about and how unstable we were at times.
"We failed to turn things around completely, and we showed inconsistency in both our play and overall performance. We have a lot of work to do to regain our balance."
"I want to see players respond to setbacks."
