Pedro Acosta heads to the Hungarian MotoGP motivated to bounce back and secure his maiden victory of the 2026 season.

At the Italian MotoGP on 31 May, the Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer delivered a battling performance, finishing ninth in the sprint event.
Acosta fought hard throughout the main race, engaging in an exciting duel with Marc Marquez, and eventually finished sixth.
MotoGP ambitions
The 22-year-old sits fourth in the 2026 MotoGP Riders' standings with 103 points.
Nicknamed "El Tiburón de Mazarrón" (The Shark of Mazarrón), Acosta trails championship leader Marco Bezzecchi by 70 points.
Why Acosta could win the Hungarian MotoGP
Balaton Park features a mix of technical corners and overtaking spots, and this track should suit the Red Bull KTM’s power and Acosta’s aggressive riding style.
Last year at the same circuit in 2025, the Shark of Mazarrón showed strong pace and finished second behind Marc Marquez.
With that experience, Acosta will look to go one step better and finally get his first win of 2026.

“I hope the fans enjoyed that one. It was good from the inside also; some nice passes. I’m satisfied," Acosta said after the 2026 Italian MotoGP.
"Today we knew what we were missing and now it is time to check the data again and work out why. It is always nice to battle with Marc! I was trying to understand what he was doing different to me and his lines.
"I recovered and could pass him but then I was struggling a bit in another area of the track. Overall, everything went well.”
