2025/26 Premier League
Matchday 23
Manchester City v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Etihad Stadium
Manchester, England
Saturday, 24 January 2026
Kick-off is at 17h00
Manchester City will be targeting nothing but a Premier League win when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Etihad Stadium on 24 January.
Current Form
The Citizens are licking their wounds after losing 2-0 to Manchester United away on 17 January and the defeat ended their nine-match unbeaten run in the English top-flight.
However, City are unbeaten in their last 10 home matches in the Premier League, having recorded two draws and eight victories at the Etihad Stadium.
Meanwhile, Wanderers were held to a 0-0 draw by Newcastle United at home on 18 January and they are unbeaten in their last four matches in the league.
However, Wolves are winless in their last 13 away matches in the Premier League, having registered 10 defeats and three draws.
Team News
Mateo Kovacic, John Stones, Oscar Bobb, Savinho, Josko Gvardiol, Ruben Dias and Nico Gonzalez are all on City's injury list, but there are no suspension concerns.
Wanderers, on the other hand, also do not have any suspension issues, but Toti Gomes, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Leon Chiwome and Tawenda Chirewa are on the relegation-threatened side's injury list.
Quotes
“This momentum is really important. We have confidence now because we are playing much better. I know it’s a difficult situation," Wanderers star Yerson Mosquera said after his side's draw against Newcastle.
"But we keep pushing and we will be putting everything we can into every game. We will have chances as well, it’s 11 against 11, and I know we had a first half of the season that was not very good, but I trust to everyone in this team. In football, anything can happen, and we will be able to win the points.
“Everyone knows Man City, but I just want to say that this is football – anything can happen. We will be going there to fight, to play. “We are positive, we have confidence, and we need to do 100 per cent to get a good result.”
Head-to-Head
City hammered Wanderers 4-0 in their last meeting in the league, which was in August 2025 at the Molineux Stadium.
As a result, the Citizens are undefeated in their last four Premier League games against Wolves, having recorded four consecutive wins.
