2025/26 Premier League
Matchday 17
Everton FC v Arsenal FC
Hill Dickinson Stadium
Liverpool, England
Saturday, 20 December 2025
Kick-off is at 20h00
Everton FC will be determined to secure a win when they host Premier League log leaders Arsenal FC at Hill Dickinson Stadium on 20 December.
Current Form
The Toffees suffered a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea FC away on 13 December and their two-match unbeaten run in the league came to an end.
However, Everton have won two of their last three home matches in the Premier League, while the other game ended in a defeat at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Meanwhile, Arsenal secured a 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at home on 13 December and it was their second victory in their last Premier League matches, including a defeat to Aston Villa.
However, the Gunners are winless in three away matches in the Premier League, having recorded two consecutive draws and one defeat as the visitors.
Team News
Everton have Jarrad Branthwaite, Merlin Rohl, Seamus Coleman and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall on their injury list, but there are no suspension worries for the Merseyside giants.
Arsenal, on the other hand, also do not have suspension issues, but Kai Havertz, Cristhian Mosquera, Max Dowman, Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes are all on the club's injury list.
Quotes
"One-thousand per cent [it shows the progress that's being made]. I think we've come on leaps and bounds. Maybe a year or two ago, we come here and we sit back and we have 20-30 per cent of the ball," Everton midfielder James Garner said after his side's defeat to Chelsea.
"Whereas today we play against one of the best teams in the league, in the Champions League and we have a large spell on the ball and I think we were a better team for large parts of the game. "But being the better team doesn't get you three points, at the end of the day – they were clinical in both boxes and we weren't.
"That's the end story of the game, but definitely there are a lot of positives to take and we just need to pick ourselves up now and go again."
Head-to-Head
Everton and Arsenal drew 1-1 in their last meeting in the league, which was played at Goodison Park in April 2025.
Therefore, the Gunners are undefeated in their last five Premier League games against Blues, having recorded two draws and three wins.
