Following a string of positive performances this year, Ludvig Aberg will hope to give a good account of himself at the Valero Texas Open later this week.
What to know about Ludvig Aberg
Aberg turned professional in June 2023 after ending his amateur career as the number one ranked golfer on the World Amateur Golf standings.
While Aberg was a star performer on the PGA Tour University rankings, the Swede was granted exempt status on the PGA Tour in 2024 and has since gone on to gain five professional wins, two of which came on the PGA tour.
Amid two titles on the Swedish Golf Tour and a single win on the European tour, Aberg’s most notable career wins came at the 2023 RSM Classic and the 2025 Genesis Invitational on the PGA Tour.
Aberg was also part of Team Europe at the 2025 Ryder Cup, where he helped his side to a 15-13 win over the United States. The 26-year-old was the only European player to win a singles match on the final day, where he saw off Patrick Cantlay to aid Europe’s first win on American soil since 2012.
What did he say
With Aberg slowly getting back to his best, the two-time Swedish Golfer of the Year claimed that he is beginning to play ‘good golf’ as the Valero Texas Open looms closer.
"I think obviously the biggest thing that I take away is that I feel like I'm playing nice golf," Aberg said after The Players’ Championship.
"I'm playing golf to the point where I feel like I can contend in big tournaments. Obviously a good finish last week and still a top-5 finish this week.
"Overall, I feel like I'm playing good golf, which is really nice. It's nice to see on a hard golf course last week, hard golf course this week. That makes me excited”.
