Lando Norris will be determined to become the second driver to win back-to-back

The McLaren driver couldn't secure a podium spot at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix title on 20 April, the most recent race on the 2025 Formula One World Championship calendar.
Norris started on the 10th grid and he impressively passed several cars to secure a fourth-place finish, which earned him 12 points, narrowly missing out on a podium spot.
Formula One title ambitions
The 2016 Autosport BRDC Award winner is placed second in the World Drivers' Championship standings, having accumulated 89 points.
Norris is 10 points behind leader Oscar Piastri of McLaren and two points ahead of second-placed Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing as they compete for the Formula One world title.
Why Norris could win the 2025 Miami Grand Prix
The Englishman will have some good memories when he returns to the Miami International Autodrome, where he was crowned 2024 Miami Grand Prix champion.
Norris, who won the first race of the current season, the Australian Grand Prix, will be looking to earn his sixth Grand Prix victory in Miami.
What did he say?
“A good day overall with a strong recovery. Well done to Oscar and the rest of the team for getting the win, we've come away from the weekend with more important points," Norris said after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
“On my side, we had a good strategy, and we optimised it to gain valuable positions. It's a shame I didn’t finish with a podium but otherwise I'm happy with the comeback and my drive today. I’ll now go away from the triple header to reset and work with my engineers to make positive steps forward.”
