World No.3 Novak Djokovic will be seeking his fourth straight title when the Wimbledon Championships gets underway on June 27.

The Serbian is closing in on Roger Federer's record of eight wins on the London grass, having lifted the trophy six times in his career (2011, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021).

Djokovic has competed in six tournaments this year, reaching the final at the ATP 250 Belgrade and the ATP masters 1000 Rome, the latter of which he won after beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets (6-0, 7-6).

The 35-year-old wasn't able to defend his title at the French Open last month as he fell to eventual champion Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals, dropping his first sets in a 2-6, 6-4, 2-6, 6-7 defeat.

Wimbledon caused a stir when it announced that Russian and Belarusian players would be banned from participating, leading to the ATP and the WTA tours removing ranking points from the Glam Slam event.

Djokovic insisted he would still play at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, although he feels Wimbledon made a mistake with their decision.

"Yes, I intend to go to Wimbledon," he said. "On a personal, individual level, I have been very negatively affected.

"Collectively I'm glad that players got together with the ATP and showed to the Grand Slam that when there is a mistake happening, and there was from the Wimbledon side, then we have to show that there is going to be some consequences."
