Rory McIlroy will be looking to mark his debut in the Zurich Classic of
New Orleans Open with a win along with his teammate Shane Lowry.
What to know about McIlroy and Lowry
McIlroy, who joined the PGA TOUR in 2010, has carved out a remarkable career, making the cut in 213 out of 243 tournaments he has entered.
His fellow Irishman Lowry won the 2019 Open Championshop, four events on the DP World Tour and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in 2015.

Currently placed second on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR), McIlroy was in action at the recent 2024 RBC Heritage where he finished 33rd.
Lowry, on the other hand, also took part in the 2024 RBC Heritage and the 39th-ranked player in the world finished 64th in the PGA tournament.
Why McIlroy and Lowry are among the favourites
McIlroy, who finished third at the 2024 Valero Texas Open, has proved to be a winner having four golf majors and he will be keen to add the Zurich Classic title to his trophy cabinet.
Lowry, who has played the Zurich Classic four times in his career, has been playing some of his best golf having finished third at the 2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational and fourth at the 2024 Cognizant Classic.
