Zambia v Botswana

Zambia will face off with their Southern African rivals Botswana in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Chipolopolo will be at home in Lusaka on November 12 in the first game and they will then play the Zebras in Francistown, Botswana on November 16.
Zambia emerged 3-1 winners over Ethiopia in their last match which was a friendly game on 25 October 2020.
The victory also extended Chipolopolo's unbeaten run to three matches having recorded three successive victories.
Their last defeat came against Kenya on 9 October 2020 as they suffered a 2-1 loss in a friendly match.
Emmanuel Mulenga, the Zambia Sports Minister, ordered that the Chipolopolo technical bench which is led by Milutin Sredojevic should be paid early in October 2020 ahead of the clashes with Botswana.
“The games we are going to have on 12 and 16 [November against Botswana] are do or die, there is no losing,” Mulenga said.
“We have done our part as the government so it’s up to you and your boys to do your part and make our soccer fans proud because they want us as a country to return that glory we had.”
Meanwhile, Botswana succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Algeria in their last game which was the 2022 AFCON qualifier in November 2019.
The defeat extended the Zebras' winless to nine matches across all competitions having registered four draws and five defeats.
Their last victory came against Lesotho as they ran out 2-1 winners in the 2019 COSAFA Cup encounter in June 2019.
The last meeting between Zambia and Botswana was on 3 August 2019.
Chipolopolo edged out the Zebras 3-2 in the 2021 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier which was played at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
