The Cottagers' have seen their survival charge hit a speed bump with a 1-0 win at Liverpool followed by back-to-back defeats to Manchester City and Leeds United at Craven Cottage before the international break.

As a result, Fulham go into this weekend's round of fixtures in 18th spot on the league standings and two points from safety.

“I’m disappointed,” Fulham manager Scott Parker said following their loss to Leeds.

“I don’t think we deserved anything out of the game really, I think the better team won.

“We struggled at times – the one thing you don’t want against Leeds, in terms of the intensity and the game, you don’t want the game to become a bit of a basketball match and at times I thought we struggled.

“There’s not many times this year that I’ve stood there after a defeat or after a draw and felt that we didn’t deserve more from the game but tonight, definitely we need to improve from where we were tonight and didn’t deserve anything from that," he added.

Villa's early season form has also been forgotten in recent weeks and they go into Sunday's match on a four-game winless run in the league, after losing 2-0 at home to Tottenham Hotspur last time out.

Villa claimed a 3-0 win over Fulham in the reverse fixture at Craven Cottage earlier this season. Goals from Jack Grealish, Conor Hourihane and Tyrone Mings led the visitors to a commanding victory.
