England will be without Jonny Bairstow when they face South Africa in the third Test at the Oval, which commences on Thursday, September 8.
Bairstow has been ruled out of the series decider after doing serious damage to his leg in a "freak accident" on the golf course last week.
The 32-year-old, who keeps wicket for his country in the ODI format, will also miss the Twenty20 World Cup in October as the injury requires surgery and is set to sideline him for several months.

Bairstow helped Brendon McCullum's team to victory over the Proteas in the second Test by an innings and 85 runs, having been dismissed on 49 in the first innings to fall just short of his 24th half-century.
"Unfortunately I am going to be unavailable for all games/tours in the immediate future. The reason being is that I have injured my lower leg in a freak accident and it shall need an operation," the Wicket-keeper-batsman wrote on Instagram.
"The injury came when I slipped on the golf course this morning. I am gutted and want to wish everyone for this week at The Oval all the best firstly, and the boys that are going to Australia for the T20 World Cup. Absolutely gutted! I will be back."
The series is tied at 1-1 after the tourists won the first Test at Lord's by an innings and 12 runs.
England improved markedly with both bat and ball at Old Trafford, scoring 415 for nine declared in response to SA's paltry 151 in the first innings.
Ben Stokes (103) and Ben Foakes (113) notched centuries, while James Anderson and Ollie Robinson starred with the ball, bundling the Proteas out for 179 in the second innings. The duo combined for 11 wickets over the course of the match.
