The Reds returned to winning ways in the league with a 2-1 victory over Sheffield United last time out. The result followed a 2-2 draw away to Everton which was preceded by a 7-2 loss at Villa Park.

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold believes that the Premier League champions are finding their groove as they now set their sights on the top of the table.

“The games come thick and fast and it’s only going to get harder for us,” Alexander-Arnold told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I think obviously the way the season ended last year and the pre-season schedule and stuff like that, it’s difficult to get fit quickly but I think the lads are finding their feet and we’re getting into that stride that we got into last season.

For the fans

“I think the more games you play, the fitter you are and I think when you’re on a good run and you’re getting results like we have done in the last two games then we want as many games as we can to keep this momentum going.”

The Hammers followed a 3-0 thumping of Leicester City with credible draws away to Tottneham Hotspur and at home to Manchester City respectively. The run of results has come as a huge boost to David Moyes' men following their slow start to the campaign.

The corresponding fixture last season ended in a 3-2 win for the hosts with African duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane bagging late goals to lead Liverpool to victory. The Reds are unbeaten in eight Premier League games against the London club.
