Real Madrid vs Granada
Real Madrid will look to avoid a potential banana skin in their league campaign when they host Granada at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Wednesday 23 December 2020, kick-off is at 20:45. The match is one of 10 spread over 22-23 December as part of Matchday 15 in the
2020-21 LaLiga season.
Real continued their fine recent string of results, defeating Eibar 3-1 on the road on December 20 – courtesy of goals from Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Lucas Vasquez – to secure a fifth straight win across all competitions.
Real manager Zinedine Zidane will once again be looking to Benzema for goals, a player he described as the best French striker ever. "He always shows up, that's what the great players do," said Zidane of the 33-year-old. "He shows it with what he's doing. He's played at Real Madrid for a long time, more than 500 games. His goals, his trophies, what he's done, they speak for themselves."
Granada, meanwhile, racked up a third straight win across all competitions when they defeated Real Betis 2-0 at home on December 20, with a brace from Roberto Soldado pushing them into the top six of the league standings.
"There are no guarantees in terms of pure results," said Granada manager Diego Martinez. "There are teams without three competitions that have a hard time winning. That said, the fact of leaning on motivation, understanding the year is so demanding, will surely help us to be more competitive."

In head-to-head stats, Real and Granada have met in 14 matches across all competitions since 2012. Los Blancos have claimed 13 wins compared to one for El Grana, with zero games drawn.
Real completed a league 'double' over Granada last season, winning 4-2 at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in October 2019 and 2-1 at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes in July 2020. Karim Benzema scored in both matches.
