23 August 2020

Yamaha rider Fabian Quartararo will be looking to return to winning ways at the Styrian Grand Prix on August 23.

The French star failed to secure a place in the podium in the most recent race, Austrian Grand Prix as he finished eighth.

Quartararo, who has broken several age records during his progress up to World Championship level, will be one of the favourites heading into the first-ever Styrian Grand Prix.

Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso emerged victoriously at the recent Austrian Grand Prix and Joao Mir of Suzuki finished second behind him.

Dovizioso's teammate Jack Miller finished on the podium for the first time this season after securing a third spot finish.

Quartararo is placed at the top of the riders' standings ahead of his Dovizioso and Yamaha's Maverick Vinales respectively.

The 21-year-old Quartararo will look to record a win at the Styrian Grand Prix in order to extend his lead at the top as he is currently 11 points above Dovizioso.

Quartararo reflected on his performance at the Austrian Grand Prix where he had a brake issue.

"We need to check, the team is working on it because it's not possible that during all last year and all this year, just in this race I have no brakes for the first time," Quartararo said.

"It was better to happen in free practice than in the race of course. But the team is looking for a solution - even me, I'm looking for a solution for the braking.

"I understand nothing about mechanical issues but I'm looking to help the team."

Yahama are sitting at the top of Manufacturers' Championship standings - 14 points above their closest rivals, Ducati.

Ducati and KTM are placed second and third respectively on the standings after four races.
