France will be looking to secure their place at the
2026 World Cup when they host Ukraine in a Group D qualifier at the Parc des Princes on Thursday, November 13.
Les Bleus are still unbeaten with two matches left to play after recording three wins and one draw to open up a three-point gap to the Blue and Yellows in top spot.
Didier Deschamps' side saw their perfect record in qualifying come to an end with the 2-2 draw against Iceland on October 13 and they will target a return to winning ways in Paris.
The two-time World Cup winners will book their ticket to the global showpiece in Canada, Mexico and the United States if they beat Ukraine. who lost 2-0 in the reverse fixture on September 5.
Serhiy Rebrov's side are expected to duke it out with Our Boys for a playoff berth, having kept their hopes alive after claiming a 2-1 win over Azerbaijan on October 13 to extend their unbeaten run to three games.
The Blue and Yellows are three points clear of Iceland, who should make short work of Azerbaijan to set up nail-biting clash with their playoff rivals in the final round of qualifiers.
Deschamps explained his decision to hand a recall to veteran defensive midfielder N'Golo Kante, who hasn't featured for his country in two years due to injuries and his move to the Saudi Pro League.
"He is at his best level. He is playing matches every three to four days, with the Asian Champions League," Deschamps said.
"He is always available for selection. The proof is that he is here. Of course, he has a status [in the team] and experience.
"When he is called up, he is here to have an important role. He is always in mind. With the technical staff, we follow him regularly. He always loves to wear the shirt."
